Caffeine-Free Mountain Dew is a variant of Mountain Dew that uses almost the exact formula, but doesn't have caffeine content.
Description
Caffeine-Free Mountain Dew is a citrus flavored soda, and is yellow-green in color, much like the original flavor. Its packaging uses the same rocky mountain design found on the original flavor's packaging, but uses gold as the prominent color.
Trivia
- Technically, this was the first variation of Mountain Dew, having a release in the 70's, when America's craze with watching what we put in our bodies was first booming. However, it was not the first flavor variant (see Red).
- Diet Mountain Dew also has a caffeine-free variant, and the Canadian Pitch Black had one for a limited time.
- In Australia, regular Mountain Dew used to use the same formula as this drink because of caffeine restrictions. It has now been reformulated and contains Caffeine. The Same Goes for Canada (now Citrus Charge) and New Zealand.
