Darth Dew was a Mountain Dew Freeze/Slurpee Flavor similar to Pitch Black and was used to promote Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith in the Summer of 2005.
Description[]
Darth Dew was a Slurpee variant of Pitch Black, as indicated by the logo's similarity to Pitch Black's label art as well as the presence of a Pitch Black logo on the bottom of its cup design. Thus, Darth Dew was a grape-flavored freeze, and was dark purple in color.
History[]
Darth Dew was released in 2005 as a limited-edition Slurpee flavor at participating 7-Eleven stores in the United States to promote the theatrical release of Star Wars Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Limited-Edition cups were also available for this flavor, modeled after its namesake Darth Vader - a character from the movie.
Trivia[]
- Along with Grape, Pitch Black, Pitch Black II, Mountain Dew Energy (Pitch Black), Kickstart (Energizing Midnight Grape), X-Treme and Violet, this flavor was one of eight grape flavored Mountain Dew variants.
- This was one of four Mountain Dew flavors that were used to promote a movie, the other ones being Arctic Burst and Kryptonite Ice (both of which promoted Superman Returns), and Dark Berry (which promoted The Dark Knight Rises).
