Dewshine was a flavor of Mountain Dew, released on March 23, 2015 and then discontinued in Feb. 2017.
Dewshine was a citrus flavored soda, and was clear in color. It was made of real sugar, similar to that of Throwback. Similar to another flavor, Johnson City Gold, Dewshine alluded to being an alcoholic beverage, but was not.
Originally, Dewshine was only in the 12 oz. bottles made out of glass but had then been made available in limited edition Dewshine 25 oz. jugs. A selection of 4 different jars of Dewshine had been seen at Circle K stores which were also advertised as limited edition.
When Mountain Dew was first created and was intended to be a whisky mix, it was described as having a flavor similar to that of 7-Up.
Dewshine had 42g of real sugar per 12oz whereas most flavors have 46g of artificial sugar. Additionally, Dewshine did not contain Orange Juice as is foreground in many other flavors. It was a different soda, rather than just a non-colored version of regular Dew.
- Dewshine was the 1st clear soda that has been produced in the Mountain Dew lineup. The second being Mountain Dew Ice.
