Diet Crave (originally known as Flavor 722) was a Mountain Dew flavor featured in the DEWmocracy II campaign, and again as a diet flavor in FanDEWmonium. Its planned tagline was "Green Apple Diet DEW with natural and artificial flavors."
This flavor, then known as Flavor 722, along with flavors 736, 286, 648, 231, 493, and 509, were shipped to Dew Labs members who were chosen based on their video submissions to the video website 12seconds.tv, and were shipped boxes of the seven prototype flavors. From the initial seven flavors, taste testers were asked to elect three final flavors for later release at retail stores. 722 eventually lost and was not released to stores.
Flavor 722 was then brought back (with fan input) under the name Crave to be featured in the FanDEWmonium promotion, where it would have a chance to become permanent diet flavors. Crave was available for taste testing at stops of American tours, and to winners of online contests, and eventually finished in 7th place, not making it to the final round.
Mountain Dew Crave was a green apple flavored soda, and was light green in color, more so than Mountain Dew.
- Crave was the first green apple flavor of Mountain Dew, the second being, Electric Apple, and the third being, Green Label.
