Game Fuel (Electrifying Berry)

Game Fuel (Electrifying Berry) was a Mountain Dew Game Fuel flavor released in Fall 2013 for a limited time as part for the Game Fuel Promotion to coincide with Ryse: Son of Rome as well as Kinect Sports Rivals.

Description[]

Game Fuel (Electrifying Berry) was a Berry (Goji Berry and Strawberry) flavor of Mountain Dew and had a violet look, having a comparable tasting flavor to that of Goji Citrus Strawberry and Purple Thunder.

Tagline[]

Its tagline was "DEW with a Charge of Electrifying Berry Flavor with Other Natural Flavors."

History[]

Main article: Game Fuel Promotion

In July 2013, a few Dew Drinkers were given a opportunity to test this flavor, which was at the moment labeled as "Game Fuel Goji Strawberry."

By August 2013, final label designs for this flavor and Game Fuel (Citrus Cherry) had been created, as images of bottles of both were posted on the app Instagram, and bottles were given out to DEW fans at PAX Prime 2013. Both flavors supported different games, with Electrifying Berry supporting "Ryse: Son of Rome" as well as "Kinect Sports Rivals."

In October 2013, both Game Fuel flavors released to stores and featured codes under their caps that gave people a chance to win free Xbox Ones. The promotion lasted until the end of the year, and the flavors were accordingly discontinued.

Trivia[]

  • Game Fuel (Electrifying Berry) was the third companion flavor to promote a video game with Game Fuel (Citrus Cherry), a returning flavor.
  • This was the first time that the Game Fuel flavors did not include Brominated Vegetable Oil, as well as the first time that the two Game Fuel flavors promoted separate games.
